WIWW: Bump Style

Well, there is absolutely no hiding this baby bump anymore! At 30 weeks, I've had to start rotating more maternity clothes into the mix. And to be honest, I can't even be mad about it. Maternity pants are so much more comfortable.

Here are a few recent outfits incorporating both maternity and non-maternity options:

Casual Friday
Top: Old Navy (maternity, gone but I also have this one and love it)
Jeans: 7 for All Mankind (maternity)
Sneaks: Keds, similar

Workday
 Top: J.Crew (non-maternity)
Pants: Gap (maternity)
Shoes: Sperry Topsiders, similar
Necklace: Francesca's Collection

Weekend Errands
 Cardigan: Old Navy, old (non-maternity)
T-Shirt: JCrew Factory (non-maternity, just bought up a size)
Jeans: 7 for All Mankind (maternity, and worth every penny)

It's definitely easier to go the non-maternity route with tops than with pants these days, which you may have noticed above.

More outfits to come!

WIWW: Shirt Dress

Just over a month ago, I added this photo to instagram. I absolutely love this dress. It was perfect for a fall rehearsal dinner, it's great for work, and I envision myself wearing this come the holidays. That adjustable waist is ideal for Thanksgiving if you ask me.

Dress: Target (here's what's available online, check stores too!)
Boots: Clarks

In theme with my recent Autumn style pronouncement, this outfit was simple. And super comfortable. Can't go wrong.

Although, Jen showed the skirt Target offers in the same fabric yesterday with booties. And now I really want a pair!

Happy Wednesday!

What I Wore: Wedding Style, Part III

Sadly, our wedding season has come to an end. So this will be my last What I Wore recap of Wedding attire. I had so much fun finding the right outfit for each and every wedding we went to this summer. And my curling iron sure got a workout! This seemed to be the year of wearing my hair down to weddings. Something I never used to do.

Wedding #1
Dress: Calvin Klein (via Rue La La), on sale here
Necklace: Monogram from Etsy (gift)
Bracelet: Target
Watch: Michael Kors
Shoes: Ralph Lauren (via TJ Maxx years ago)

Original wedding recap here

Wedding #2
Dress: Nordstrom
Necklace: C. Wonder (borrowed!)
Bracelets: Alex & Ani
Watch: Micahel Kors

Original wedding recap here

I actually had all intentions of wearing my hair up to this wedding but thought I'd be sweet and ask J what he'd prefer. He said down. Welp, so glad I went out and bought the bobby pins I forgot to pack. You can never have too many of those though, right?

What's your wedding style?
I've realized that I tend to stick to simple dresses, no pattern or busy print. Weird, huh? I'm not really sure why because I always love the fun dresses I see on others. Maybe I'll branch out next year. :)

If you missed the past wedding wear recaps, you can find them here and here.

Until next year wedding season!

What I Wore: Wedding Style, Part II

I realize my outfit posts have been few and far between lately. Honestly, my closet is covered in a layer of dust, half of my sweaters still aren't unpacked, and neither are my fall shoes/boots. Until our bathroom renovation is done, my daily work wear isn't all the exciting. It's more of a what's not wrinkled/ what's not covered in dust decision lately. I'm hoping to have an hour or two this weekend to get out my cooler clothes and put away the summer ones. Oh and clean up the contractor's mess! Ugh.

So until then, I'd love to share the rest of my wedding outfits this week and next. If you missed my first recap, you can find it here. As I've mentioned before (and recapped here and here) we had two weddings Labor Day Weekend. Not only did I love the weddings themselves, but I just loved the dresses I was able to wear. One thing I can recommend now, tailoring. It makes such a difference. And depending on what you need done, it can be reasonably priced.

Wedding #1
Dress: Lily Pulitzer (via Rue La La)

Tip: I googled the dress name before buying since it was a clearance, final sale item and found many reviews. Including, and most helpful, Rent the Runway where reviewers can leave photos of themselves in the dress (here). This was incredibly helpful!

Wedding #2
Dress: Modcloth

I didn't do so well getting photos of my dress at this wedding. Especially since the back is the best part! Check the link above.

With so many weddings this year, I only bought dresses if they were reasonably priced, on sale, etc. The final sale deals on Rue La La can be totally worth it if you know what size you need (since they're usually final sale).

What's your favorite shop/site to buy dresses?
My go-to's tend to be J.Crew, J.Crew Factory, Rue La La

WIWW: Casino Style

What I Wore Wednesday -

If you've been to a casino, you know they tend to be a bit chilly. They've got to keep you awake! A few years ago, I didn't consider this when I wore a cute dress. This time, I knew better. I knew right away that I'd be incorporating a blazer or cardigan.

Birthday celebration, night out, casino fun....my hot pink blazer was practically begging me to wear it!
And the leopard print wedges were a must too. Yes, definite must.

Blazer: Zara (via eBay)
Tank top: Ann Taylor
Black Skinnies: Ann Taylor (old)
Sandals: Ettiene Aigner (via TJ Maxx)

I don't get to wear this blazer too often, it's a little bright for work. But man do I love it. Especially in this outfit. It adds the perfect amount of color in a less traditional way. Here's another way I've worn it.

What's your favorite, bold piece of clothing? The minute I saw this hot pink blazer, I just knew I had to have it.

WIWW: Birthday Dinner

It's What I Wore Wednesday time!

Sunday night we had the privilege of enjoying a birthday dinner with our parents. Like I mentioned earlier, it's currently Boston Restaurant Week. Since it runs the last two weeks of March annually, I usually get to enjoy one or two birthday dinners out. Fine dining and good wine is totally up my alley.

Well, my father-in-law's birthday happens to be the day before mine! And the parents have been looking for a reason to get into the city and try out restaurant week. Lucky us!

We headed to Morton's in the Seaport for an amazing meal. I tend to go for the nice, but casual look when I know the restaurant isn't overly dressy. I'd rather give the vibe that, oh I go here all the time, than wow this place is super-duper fancy and I'm over dressed. I'm crazy. What can I say? Once and a while, it is fun to dress up though.

So here's what I decided to wear:

Top: Ann Taylor (gift!)
Pants: Toothpick Jeans (J.Crew)
Shoes: Dana Buchman for Kohls

Can I just point that out once more. Those awesome loafers are from Kohls! We visited friends who recently purchased a beautiful home and Lauren and I decided to do a little shopping nearby. These flats are incredibly comfortable, actually have a little support in them, and were so reasonable. I'll be checking out Kohls more often.

Have you found any great deals lately? I also scored this blouse last weekend during a sale at Ann Taylor. It will be worn this weekend either at my brother-in-laws 30th birthday party at the casino, or Easter. (Yes, 3 family birthdays, 3 days in a row...wahoo!)

WIWW: Office Attire

Remember when I mentioned that one of the StitchFix tops I received closely resembled a top I already owned? Well, here she is.

Although my current job is more laid back in the dress code than what I wore in public accounting (read: less button downs, more knits & less skirts, more pants) it's nice to step up my attire once and a while.

Top: Alfani (via Macys)
Skirt: TJMaxx
Tights: Calvin Klein (via Macys)
Black Wedges: Nine West

Do you see why I just couldn't justify keeping that other top? I did love it though. A high waisted, black, pencil skirt is pretty much flattering on everyone. You just can't go wrong. I'm hoping to branch out into some fun, colored pencil skirts this spring. Anyone else counting down the days until warmer weather?...

WIWW: Winter Work Outfit

Happy Wednesday! I'm considering this week quite the success. I haven't worked past 8 yet, I've enjoyed a mid week glass of wine already (no, not this morning....I'm not THAT much of a lush), and I'm posting my third post this week! AND....it follows the blog schedule I set. Go me!

This post is hot off the press. As in, I wore this exact outfit to work yesterday. Yep, I realized I've been pretty lazy about my What I Wore Wednesday posts as of late. The best thing about this outfit? It is beyond affordable.

Would you believe me if I told you that my new wool jacket was from Target? It sure is. Clearance too! Thanks Mom for picking up this steal for me! She's always got my back.

And underneath the new coat...
Don't mind the hair....yikes...going for the windblown look apparently.

Cardigan - Ann Taylor (gift from my MIL!)
Tank - TJ Maxx (probably 4 years ago...)
Black Velvet Skinnies - Target (these may be the best fitting pair of skinny jeans I own...no lie, also clearance)
Flats - Zara
Earrings - JoJo Blings in cushion cut

This is a glass half full kind of week for me, aka it's a wow it's already Wednesday type of week.

Have a great day!

xoxo, T

(ya, I just did that. Thinking I should always sign-off like that....thoughts??)

WIWW: Holiday Party

By the time Sunday night rolled around, I was ready for this past weekend to be over. Don't get me wrong, it was a blast and I loved every minute of it. But it was a lot. It was so busy that I really failed in my duties to capture the moment in photos. Like, big time fail.

Like, here is the ONE photo I took (yes, I am a GIANT next to our Christmas tree...we went with a baby tree this year) We were running late of course, so I figured I'd snap a photo of the two of use once we were there. Thank god for photobooths! Oh, and because we were running late, I relied on Uber to get us there. Called for a town car, got picked up in a BIG @$$ Lincoln Navigator. It was awesome. And didn't cost us a penny more than the town car would have. Such a sweet deal.

Slowly working on my camera skills. Like those starburst christmas lights?! Here's what I wore to my company's Holiday Party:
Dress: Laren Ralph Lauren (via Lord & Taylor 3 years ago)
Shoes: my old stand bys - Enzo Angiolini (via Nordstroms)
Necklace: J.Crew Outlet
Earrings: Grandmother's old pearls
Bracelet: Stella & Dot (similar)

Like I said, thank goodness for the photobooth! Look how handsome J looked! One thing I love about Holiday parties is all the red ties. It's a bold color that you just don't see as often during the year.

We certainly had a great time Saturday night. But my feet were still hating me Monday morning....guess that's what dancing will do! Already looking forward to next year.

What I Wore Wednesday: IRS Town Meeting

A few weeks ago I was able to attend an IRS Town Meeting at my alma mater, Bentley University. I know, most of you are thinking, total snoozefest, but I have to say, it was rather interesting! I not only went to Bentley for undergrad but also for my Masters in Tax so it's always nice to be back on campus. And it is just so freakin gorgeous there in the fall.

The meeting itself was made up of a handful of discussions throughout the day with a lead speaker and several guests. It was really interesting to listen to my former tax professor interact with public accounting partners as well as representatives from the IRS. It certainly brought back memories from my public accounting days!

So, how do you dress for something like this?! I had a feeling I was going to be on the younger side of the audience members. And knowing it was being held in an auditorium, I feared being cold. So the obvious decision? Layers. And lots of them.

Tank top under button down under sweater vest under velvet blazer. And this was a great choice because I was never too warm.

Button Down: Ann Taylor
Sweater Vest: Banana Republic outlet (very old)
Velvet Blazer: J.Crew
Work pants: Ann Taylor
Shoes: Bandolino (via DSW)
Watch: Michael Kors
Glasses: Kate Spade

This outfit will certainly be making a debut again in the office. Although I was afraid of feeling a little restricted with so many layers, it was actually really comfortable. There's nothing worse than being cold in the office!

Shoes: Bandolino (via DSW)
Watch: Michael Kors
Earrings: Express (really old)
