Rangeley, ME - July 2013

A few weeks ago, I escaped to the backwoods of Maine for a long weekend. I can't tell you how perfect this trip was, and oh so relaxing. I've mentioned this briefly before, and I can't tell you how happy this makes me, but after years (10+) of renting a home in Rangeley, ME my parents found their dream vacation home.

And let me tell you, it is truly a vacation home. Not a neighbor in site, enveloped in woods, a true retreat. Warning - picture overload in this post!

Friday night we took the boys down to the lake to cool off. I am still in complete shock that Tucker ran right in. And stayed in!

 I couldn't help but laugh when we pulled onto the "street" the house is off of. It's perfect. My parents actually had to snowshoe up to the house this past winter to see it. Crazy!

 Saturday we headed out onto Rangeley Lake. Sunshine and fresh water, just what the doctor ordered.

The thing about vacations with my parents, there is always lots of food. Good, good, indulgent food. And I don't hate it!

It was just the original crew for the weekend and it was perfect.

Fun Fact Monday 08.05.13

Hi friends! How was your weekend? Ours was quite the whirlwind. I knew it was going to fly by with so much planned, and sure enough it did. I feel as though Fridays post was a bit of a cop-out. There wasn't much content to it after a long work week. So let's try it again, shall we?

1.  Friday we had J's family over for dinner to celebrate his birthday. We realized halfway through the week that the entire family could make it on the same night! That rarely happens these days with everyone's schedules. So even though I had to work all day, who doesn't love pizza and wine? Problem solved: delivery.

2. Saturday we celebrated my college roommates wedding. And oh my, if you're looking for a venue between Boston and Cape Cod on the water, wait until you see my pictures later this week! Here's a sneak peak:

3. I tried Kate's braided bun updo tutorial for the wedding. She's a genius! How'd I do?

4. Sunday we hung by the pool with friends. Just what we needed.

5. Um, how sweet is this?! (They even bookmarked the chapter on our neighborhood)

6. So last week I found out about a pretty awesome event happening in Boston this week! Have you heard of BostonFest? Live entertainment, food trucks, Harpoon brewery, giant jenga, and more all together! We are totally in.

If you've been reading for a while, you know J and I love live music. We are definitely willing to spend money to go to a concert together. How can you not appreciate the talent?! Add food trucks and Harpoon beer, ya this is going to be awesome. Will we see you there (buy your tickets here)??!!

7. Lastly, Happy Birthday J! Today is my loves birthday.  I hope you've had a wonderful 27th year, and cheers to what 28 will bring!

I am always happy to see Friday roll around, aren't you? Work weeks tend to feel both very long and short at the same time lately. If that makes any sense.

Not too much to report from this week thanks to a busy work week. But so many fun things coming up to fill you in on! My college roomie is joining the wives club with me tomorrow, we'll be celebrating J's birthday, and if you haven't already done so, go say Happy Birthday to Amelia!
